Why trust Waves.Guide data?
Waves.Guide was built with one goal: to create the most comprehensive and independent source of structured information about surf pools, wave technologies and surf park developments worldwide.
Our data is collected primarily from publicly available sources, including official project and operator websites, technology providers, planning documents, press releases, investor materials, industry publications and other credible sources. Information from these different sources is reviewed, cross-checked where possible, and translated into a highly structured and detailed data model developed specifically for the surf pool industry.
Rather than simply collecting links or repeating announcements, Waves.Guide structures information consistently across projects, technologies and locations. This makes it possible to identify differences, compare developments and analyse the industry as a whole.
Every location and project is continuously reviewed as new information becomes available, with updates tracked by date. We also distinguish between confirmed information and data that is estimated, announced, planned or not publicly available whenever that distinction is relevant.
Independent by design
Waves.Guide is independent of surf park developers, technology manufacturers and operators. No manufacturer or commercial operator determines how projects or technologies are presented or compared.
The project grew out of a genuine fascination with wave-making technology and the rapid development of inland surfing. As a lifelong windsurfer and surfer, I have always been fascinated by something that windsurfing could never convincingly offer: the possibility of artificially engineering the surfing itself.
That curiosity became Waves.Guide.
How accurate is the data?
The surf park industry changes constantly. Projects are announced, redesigned, delayed, financed, cancelled or opened, while technical and commercial information is not always publicly disclosed. It would therefore be unrealistic to claim that every data point is always 100% complete and current.
Based on our ongoing research and verification, we estimate the Waves.Guide dataset to be approximately 90–95% accurate and complete across the information we track.
Where information cannot be independently verified, we prefer transparency over false precision.
That same principle applies to our reports: they are based on the best structured information available to Waves.Guide at the time the report is generated. A report is therefore not presented as an absolute source of truth, but as an independent, structured and carefully researched snapshot of the market.
Independent research. Structured data. Transparent limitations. No commercial agenda.
That is what makes Waves.Guide a reliable starting point for understanding the rapidly evolving world of surf pools — particularly for investors, entrepreneurs, developers, operators, technology providers, consultants and other business stakeholders who need an independent view of the market to support research, benchmarking and informed decision-making.
